Motivated by the need to engage the next generation in ongoing efforts at safeguarding the planet, Climate and Sustainable Development Network (CSDevNet) in collaboration with the Gender and Environmental Risk Reduction Initiative (GERI) organised an advocacy campaign on how to beat plastic pollution and a tree planting exercise at LGEA Primary School, Makurdi in Benue state, North-Central Nigeria.
The event, which commemorated the 2018 World Environment Day, had in attendance, representatives from Gender and Environmental Risk Reduction Initiative (GERI), Gender and Economic Empowerment Initiative (GECOME), Environment and Climate Change Amelioration Initiative (ECCAI), Good Health Living Environment Foundation (GHOLEF), Angel Support Foundation (ASF).
The LGEA. Primary school pupils were all actively engaged as they received lessons on how to refuse, reuse or recycle plastic. They also participated excitedly in the tree planting exercise which rounded up the day.
