The prestigious award was presented at the Victoria Crown Plaza (VCP) Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, during the Recognition Ceremony of Nigeria’s Top 100 Environmental Professionals, held alongside the Nigeria Environment Outlook (NEO) Inception Roundtable, a landmark event supported by the Federal Ministry of Environment and key industry stakeholders.

As Head of the Climate Change Unit and Climate Change Coordinator at the African Union, Dr. Ogallah leads transformative initiatives that unite African countries around shared climate priorities. Notably, he spearheaded the development of the African Union’s First Carbon Market Strategy, unlocking over $400 million in climate finance opportunities for African nations and paving the way for innovative nature-based solutions and market mechanisms.

As National Network Coordinator of CSDevNet, Abuh leads one of Nigeria’s most vibrant climate and sustainability coalitions, bringing together over 300 civil society organizations across the country. A trained environmental biologist and sustainability advocate, Abuh brings a unique blend of science, policy insight, and grassroots experience to his work. Abuh empowers youth and communities to harness technology and storytelling to drive environmental advocacy.
