The Climate and Sustainable Development Network of Nigeria (CSDevNet) is proud to spotlight one of its Young Digital Activists (YDA) and an alumnus of the Nairobi Summer School on Climate Justice, Ediongsenyene Ndunobong, as he embarks on a prestigious training program at the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO) under the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) in Beijing, China.
Earlier today, Ediongsenyene, along with participants from 15 countries, was officially welcomed to AIBO in Changping District, Beijing. This intensive training will focus on China’s Experience in Poverty Alleviation under the Global Development Initiative (GDI), with specialized modules on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), China’s targeted poverty alleviation strategies, and advancements in crop seed R&D for sustainable agriculture.
As an agriculturist and environmentalist committed to addressing the impacts of climate change, Ediongsenyene’s work has been instrumental in advocating for environmental sustainability in Nigeria. During this program, he aims to gain firsthand insights into China’s successful models for economic development and poverty alleviation. The training will explore how China has strategically lifted millions out of poverty across various sectors, including health, education, tourism, e-commerce, and agriculture—valuable lessons that can be adapted to drive sustainable development in Nigeria and beyond.
CSDevNet celebrates Ediongsenyene’s participation in this transformative initiative and acknowledges the generous support of Rt. Hon. Unyime Idem, whose commitment to capacity building and development-focused leadership has made this opportunity possible. His backing of young changemakers like Ediongsenyene underscores the importance of investing in future leaders who will drive sustainable solutions to global challenges.
AIBO, established in 1980, is renowned for its dedication to human resource development, particularly through training personnel from developing nations. This program is a significant step forward for Ediongsenyene and aligns with CSDevNet’s mission to empower young leaders in climate action and sustainable development.
As Ediongsenyene embarks on this journey, CSDevNet remains committed to supporting young advocates like him in leveraging global knowledge and partnerships to foster sustainable growth in Nigeria. His participation at AIBO is not just an achievement for him but a milestone for CSDevNet and the broader climate justice movement in Africa.
We look forward to the valuable lessons and insights he will bring back from China, contributing to Nigeria’s sustainable development aspirations. The days ahead will indeed shape the years ahead.
